On October 10th, a LOGISTIKA magazine team sailed in “Logistics point Varna”. The aim of the “raid” was to meet and talk to representatives of logistics, forwarding and distribution companies in order to understand their sentiments at the end of the year 2010. In our meetings, we tried to find the answers to two questions: is there some recovery of the market and what management strategies will they use in 2011 in order to regain positions lost during the downturn.

Transloading in Russian sea ports is set to grow by 30 mln. tons and reach 525 mln. tons by the end of 2010. That is the forecast of Rosmorrechflot, the Federal Agency for Marine and River Transport. “We must first pass the 500 mln. ton mark, and then aim for 1 bln. tons”, explains the manager of the Agency – Alexander Davidenko. By 2016 Russia will create the prerequisite for transloading of 770 mln. tons, including a 15% reserve capacity.

Golden Apple is a Bulgarian company that develops organic products based on microalgae. It has partners on three continents and operates in Bulgaria and Eastern Europe. Recently, during the Made in Bulgaria 2009 national exhibition, Golden Apple was awarded the Golden Lion Award of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce in the Foods category. The Golden Apple team started producing and distributing healthy “green” food in 2003. They developed 21 products in 6 years.
