The company LB Bulgaricum works in three areas – licensing, production, and R&D. For more than half a century the company has been a technological leader of the diary industry in Bulgaria, as well as a leader in the export of know-how, technology, and starter cultures for Bulgarian yoghurt and dairy products.


The company produces milk, cheese and yellow cheese following technical specification that come as close as possible to the traditional Bulgarian production – excluding the use of any vegetable fats or genetically modified organisms. In order to improve the quality of the materials and keep high standards for the products, LB Bulgaricum has implemented a policy to support farmers, and to provide them with feed at preferential prices. The milk is only collected at licensed stations – trucks stop daily at more than 80 purchasing locations.


Over the last few years the sales of starter cultures abroad have grown. Consumers in Japan have adopted Bulgarian yoghurt best – statistics show that 24 million Japanese start their day with Bulgarian yoghurt.
