The 11th Management Information Systems conference took place in Sofia. The conference gathered many sociologists, consultants, IT companies, ministers, companies from the light and heavy industry, transportation, forwarding and logistics.

The results of the first national survey “Rates of implementation, usage and upgrades of IT solutions among small and medium-sized enterprises in Bulgaria” were presented at the conference. The survey showed that 67.5% of the surveyed companies have implemented some corporate software, while the other 32.5% have not. Over 40% of the companies are not planning investments in information systems. The companies that intend to invest plan to focus on accounting software and CRM systems. The survey shows that 18% of the transportation and logistics companies intend to outsource IT activities. Just 4.3% of the companies in Bulgaria plan to utilize cloud technologies, and logistics companies were least interested.
